A Great Groom Starts At Home

At Best In Show Grooming, we put the dog first. Humanity over vanity. We want every pup to look and feel their best. To us this means:

• Your pup gets 1-on-1 attention. The majority of the groom, your pup will have the salon to themselves, thus they can enjoy a calm environment. 

• We cater to small to medium sized dogs. Max weight is 65 pounds. 

• Being a solo operation, we do not have the facilities to work on large dogs, nor the number of hands to handle overly anxious dogs. Some dogs require a shop with more than one groomer to safely handle them.  

• Grooming includes a blow out, brushing, all over fine-tooth combing, then mist & fluff to ensure a clean, healthy coat, free of tangles and matts. 

• We follow breed specific patterns, of course with modifications based on owner preference.

• Every bath is thorough, using separate shampoo and conditioner. Gentle cleansers also available for our sensitive pups. 

• When we trim nails, we also file sharp edges. And for our hairier pups, we trim pad hair. We call it a full pawdicure! 

• Groomers are pretty amazing, but we are not miracle workers. We can only work with what we are given. A dog who is not maintained well at home, or is not tolerant of the grooming process, will not have a perfect grooming outcome.

Kelley Cookson maintains a membership to the Ontario Dog Groomers Association (ODGA). Members in good standing with the ODGA are professionals committed to high grooming standards, pet safety, and ethical care.
